In this article, we take a closer look at MY DIGITAL OFFICE.

MBN: what exactly is it?

Would you like to find out more about Mon Bureau Numérique or MBN? In this part of the article, we’ll look at the “Mon Bureau Numérique” initiative and some of the figures that characterize it.

MBN’s main initiative

Mon Bureau Numerique is a digital environment dedicated to educational players, including teachers, students, families and school staff. It was in September 2018 that this Espace Numérique de Travail(ENT) became available in collèges and lycées in the Grand Est region.

Today, this ENT offers a user-friendly, stable interface for both universities and high schools. It’s a platform that goes far beyond transcripts and textbooks. In fact, MY DIGITAL DESKTOP is perfectly suited to everyone’s specifications and needs, bringing together educational content and tools. It enables collaboration, communication, access to a range of digital educational resources and even personalized work.

The new platform is the fruit of a long-standing collaboration between the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry ofEducation and the Grand Est region and its departments, including Aube, Ardennes, Meuse, Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Haute-Marne, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin and Vosges.

My Digital Office in figures

If we have to summarize the progress of Mon Bureau Numérique in a few figures, it can be summed up as follows:

  • The Grand Est region with its 10 departments: Aube, Ardennes, Meuse, Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Haute-Marne, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin and Vosges.
  • Direction Régionale de l’Alimentation, de l’Agriculture et de la Forêt or DRAAF.
  • The three academies, including Académie de Nancy Metz, Académie de Reims and Académie de Strasbourg.
  • 700 schools in the district.
  • And 1,000,000 applications.

What is the main purpose of an ENT or Digital Workspace?

Students, teachers, parents and non-teaching staff can use a shared workspace to access digital content tailored to their needs.

The Digital Workspace will then enable everyone to obtain important information about the school, such as timetables, class schedules, boarding facilities, catering, class council schedules and much more.

Parents can even research their children and see the different tasks they have to complete in class and their homework. If they wish, they can also find information on their children’s absences, grades and lateness. To facilitate communication at the start of the school year, the school has a login and password.

The benefits of Mon Bureau Numérique, the digital workspace

To deal with situations that prevent students from coming to school, teaching teams need to use the resources available in theacademy, and especially on theENT. These different resources generally maintain the link between the instructor, the student and the rest of the class. In this way, an absent student can access the same services as his or her classmates, live or recorded. All it needs is an Internet connection.

In extraordinary cases, such as when a teacher is confined, he or she may not return to the classroom under any circumstances. This is where My Digital Office comes in.

Today, a Digital Workspace provides several multimedia services that meet the needs of schools, such as :

  • Cooperation and coordination services ;
  • Regulating school and teaching life ;
  • The operation and delivery of capital-intensive digital applications;
  • And a laryngologist to provide administrative services.

In addition, ENT offers a number of advantages for students. Firstly, it helps students work at home. In this way, they can take control of school and work resources such as e-mail, diaries and textbooks, all from a distance.

Secondly, the ENT also enables them to work on a computer at home or at school, train directly after class and share various tools with each other. Above all, it gives them much greater autonomy, with a virtual office where they can access teaching materials, course notes, a calendar and even upcoming courses.

Finally, ENT strongly encourages schools and parents to communicate with each other. They will be able to track their child’s absences, school progress and even testimonials in real time.

In short, autonomy, knowledge and communication are the keywords of this new educational method.
